Mastering triads in 7 steps!

Step 1: Learn the formula of the major and the minor triad: - major triad: 1 3 5 - minor triad: 1 b3 5

Step 2: Try to spell the triad formula in different keys without the instrument. For example, C major triad: C E G, F minor: F Ab C, etc.

Step 3: Apply them on the instrument. Play two octaves, in position, from string 6 and 5 (V1 & V2). Key of G. Eight notes at 60 beats per minute. Alternate picking.

Step 4: Repeat Step 1, but with the diminished and the augmented triad: - diminished triad: 1 b3 b5 - augmented triad: 1 3 #5

Step 5: Repeat Step 2 but with the diminished and the augmented triad in mind.

Step 6: Apply the "Rubato technique": play a chord and then create a nine-note line that goes up and then comes back "home". Alternate a chord and a line.

“Step” 7: Enjoy the beautiful sound of the triads!
