Mastering Triads

The first step is to learn the 4 types of essential triads, which are:

• Major (1 3 5)

• Minor (1 b3 5)

• Augmented (1 3 #5)

• Diminished (1 b3 b5)

On the guitar you could start by looking for these chords on each group of 3 strings. For exemple, you take a C triad and find it on strings 654, 543, 432 and 321.
